When it went on sale in 2008, the Cruze finally provided Chevrolet a highly competitive model in the hotly contested compact sedan segment. Round 2 starts in 2016 with an all-new Cruze; larger, lighter and faster with a more dynamic driving experience, according to Chevy. Now that the Malibu is getting bigger, the Cruze has room to grow too, now nearly 3” longer affording more rear leg and knee room. A sleeker design with wind-cheating aerodynamics, the new Cruze utilizes a lighter steel body and a new turbocharged engine with auto start/stop to achieve an estimated 40mpg highway when paired with the available 6-speed automatic transmission.
