2023 Cadillac CT5 Review

The 2018 Cadillac CT6 was the genesis of General Motor’s true hands-free highway driving technology. Three years later and Enhanced Super Cruise was introduced on the CT5 furthering the autonomy with automated lane changes. Flash ahead to 2023 and Super Cruise has expanded throughout Cadillac’s lineup and has even trickled down to certain GMC and Chevrolet models with Buick being the only GM brand yet to offer it.
(Stand-up 1)
That’s right. As the system continues to improve and more roads are mapped and deemed safe, Super Cruise now works on certain two-lane roads. But don’t worry, it’s always clear when it is and isn’t available by the various messages on the display.
(Stand-up 2)
The CT5 is slated to end production in 2025 as Cadillac continues its march into full electrification. It’s currently Cadillac’s largest car but this specific flavor isn’t the right one for me.
What shame the luxury German automakers must feel that even 5 years later they still can’t deliver the hands-free experience offered in a $35,000 Chevy Bolt. So kudos to Cadillac for paving the way. Super Cruise adds anywhere between $2,200 and over $8,000 depending upon the chosen vehicle and package. I wouldn’t get a GM model without it.
