2018 Honda Fit Sport Review

The Honda Fit is a dynamo. Diminutive on the outside and surprisingly spacious on the inside, it’s a magic act of efficient packaging. Plus, it’s affordable, fuel efficient and fun-to-drive. For 2018, it undergoes a significant freshening which includes a new Sport trim. Sandwiched between the base LX and EX trims, the Sport is priced from $18,375 including destination. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard while a CVT with paddle shifters is optional, priced at an additional $800. While all Fits feature updated and sportier styling, the Sport takes on an even more aggressive and sporty look with a full-on aero body kit, gloss-black finish for the 16” alloys, a chrome exhaust finisher and Sport badge. Honda Factory Performance parts and accessories can take the look up several more notches. The interior distinguishes itself with a black interior with unique cross-hatched fabric, orange stitching, armrest and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Sport models also step up with a 7” touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Power originates from a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder making 130 horsepower. Ride comfort and handling characteristics have been improved for 2018 attributed to retuned suspension dampers, a more rigid steering system and additional body reinforcements. It also provides a quieter cabin. Honda Sensing – the company’s suite of advanced safety features – is a $1,000 option on CVT-equipped Sport models only. The CVT also nets the best fuel economy at 31mpg city/36mpg highway.
